The Family

Since the About page was mainly about me, I decided to dedicate a page to the other members of the family. (I figured it was the least I could do) We will start with youngest to oldest.

The Princess

beautyKennedy Inayah Simone. Isn’t she lovely? I seriously did not think I wanted a girl after being around the boys for so long. I wanted to be surprised when she was born and right up until the end of my pregnancy, I thought I was having a boy-until the drama started. I knew for sure that I was carrying a drama queen. At first glance on our site, it might appear that she is my favorite but she isn’t. It truly has been a blessing to have a little girl that you can dress up. (Uncle Khalil calls her my accessory) After years of going straight to the boy’s section in The Gap, I can finally show off my styling abilities via my mini me. It does not hurt either that she is so stinking cute. Uncle Khalil really thinks she is not ours and that we should give her back to her Dominican parents. She is such a pleasant baby but she has a ferocious side (really she growls). I have big plans for her, charm school, tennis, horseback riding, etc. You know, the things people with money do with their kids, except we don’t have any money. :) You can see more pics of this beaut by clicking HERE.

The Terror

bad

Lord have mercy. He just looks bad. I am not condoning him saying “shup up” but his timing really is impeccable. This child is a piece of work. I remember wondering if he would ever talk and then when he did he was saying everything! He is a curious creature and he does not listen to idle threats so phrases such as “don’t touch” or “stop that Kayden” mean absolutely nothing. You will not get the reaction you want until you are right up in his face. I can already see where this is headed. We are about to enroll him in a multi-lingual school so I am sure we will be getting it in various languages.

The Mannoy

khai

See the definition here. Seriously, his persistence will get him far in the future but these days it is only getting him pinches and taps. You will not be able to pull the wool over this one’s eyes; he is as sharp as a tack. He has a blunt way about him and I am sure he is not trying to be rude; it’s just the way it comes out. Uncle Khalil thinks he should be a model but I could see them asking me not to bring him back to another shoot. In a previous life he must have been some sort of royalty because he expects to be waited on hand and foot. Oh, how could I forget-the boy can eat!! Lunch time only exists in our home because of his expectations. I could definitely see him as a chef when he grows up. Although the last time I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said the Statue of Liberty. *~*

The Cool Guy

sheed

I cannot believe he was once a baby. I mean where does the time go? By far the most laid back child in our home. He helps out a great deal with the little ones too. he needs to be constantly reminded to do his chores despite the big ass chore list posted up in the kitchen. This year we had some school drama, (late or missing assignments). One call to Uncle Khalil usually yields the results I need when I run into a problem. Rashid’s signature phrase is “just a minor setback” so when I end up taking away gadgets like his phone and Ipod, I try to remind him that it is indeed just a minor setback. :)

So that’s the family. Oh, there is Mr. Sowell. But he does not say much so if we add him here it would just read: “he does not say much”. LOL.

I happened upon your blog…i never read one before…but it is HILARIOUS! I wanted a little niece very badly when my sis and her hubby got married . Instead i have a goofy video playing boy. NO FUN to dress at all. I sigh deeply at Christmas at the sight of velvet dresses. The boys are darling…but now you have an accessory…for real!

Iman, you have me literally in tears with the description of the kids. Your description of Kayden is how I would describe Janaia, but she is fierce, the taps and “don’t touch” doesn’t faze her either to me I feel that encourages her more to act the fool. LOL!! I really love your site, wishing you all the best.
