Jamaica, Jamaica

So two weeks ago we took a short trip to Jamaica for Andrea’s wedding. I was so apprehensive about leaving ALL the kids home. Initially, Kennedy was going to get another stamp in her Passport because:

  • her ticket would have been free because she would have been a lapper.
  • she has so many summer dresses that we never used; it would have made sense to take her because I would have been able to do a couple outfit changes and get my wear’s worth.

Even though I planned this wedding, I initially did not want to go. LOL. I have been to Jamaica enough times and never had a good time. I am so glad I went!!! It was amazing. Here is a sample of what I woke up to each morning:

How can you be mad at that? After I saw that the first morning, I knew it was a good decision to keep the little people home. We had a blast and we didn’t even do much. It was nice just being around friends and family and nice weather. Here is a snippet of our beach volleyball competition: it was intense! You know how much I love a competition!

I know how hard it is for most people to get away for a bit during these rough economic times but try to set some goals once you bounce back into the swing of things. Set aside a few dollars towards a getaway…we all need one. It doesn’t even have to be extravagant. Even if you go somewhere local, leave the kids home and go enjoy you. I am glad I decided to go. Negril was truly what I needed. Enjoy the footage!

I totally agree, you should get away (sans children) to enjoy you, and reconnect (if you’re a twosome :-). I too, was reluctant about going. I just finished an extended maternity leave that left my savings in shambles. But I’ll tell you this, the money we spent on that trip was well worth it. Even though, Mark and I slept a lot, the trip was just what the doctor ordered :-) We needed time to remember why we got married in the first place. I’m already looking forward to the next adults only trip!!

you look and sound like you had a great time. I know what you mean about a get away and it is VERY MUCH needed for couples (with and without children).

geesh I didn’t know so many people were reluctant to come to my wedding. I am so gald that you all came and had such a great time. I, too, had a wonderful time and my kids were there. Iman you did a wonderful job planning the wedding. If anyone is in search for a wedding planner Iman is wonderful:-)

How awesome that you and the hubby were able to get away for such a romantic little trip - me and DH need this badly. I’m scared to leave the baby alone but I know that the day will come when it happens. ANd i”m definitely missing our old, romantic, quality time.

I love Negril!!!

LOVE the vids! That water was calling my name! Very happy to hear that you and the hubs ditched…um, I mean left the kiddos for a few days to enjoy some time together and celebrate a loved one’s union. It can be hard to do that, especially when the children are so young, but it can be so awesome to go an hour w/out telling a little person to back off and stop trippin’ (that is if you say that sort of thing to your child…I certainly don’t *winks*).

Thanks for sharing!
