it just wasn’t long enough! I love me some Atlanta. Every time I visit I want to move there. The ladies picked a wonderful venue for their inaugural conference. Blogalicious 2009 was so warm and refreshing. Unfortunately, I only have BlogHer to compare Blogalicious to and even if I started to, it would not be 100% fair seeing as though I did not attend one panel at Blogalicious. I was a little busy promoting the site as the title sponsor of the conference. But as a teaser, I would say that Blogalicious taught me that I like small, intimate, friendly events. Everywhere I went, people were warm, receptive and genuinely nice. I even met some of the same people again that I met first at BlogHer and even they were a little bit nicer (not all but some), must have been the hotel-which was wickedly haute! I stay at a lot of hotels and The W Midtown in Atlanta was all that.
I have been so busy working on Sunkissed Mommy that I have been neglecting my family updates. Even though I did not attend any panels, I learned a few things about myself at the conference that I did not really pay attention to before. I have been blogging, quietly since 2006. At that time I was blogging to my son so that he could one day read my thoughts. Back then, I was not aware of blogging conferences, monetized blogs or expert panels. In fact, it was not until I got to BlogHer that I was made aware of the potential of blogging as a business. I fooled myself then into thinking that I wanted to go visit plants, get products to review and be considered an “expert” on all things related to parenting. Blogalicious somehow led me to the light. I do not want blogging infamy. I do not want to take my blog to the next level. I kinda want it to stay right here under the radar and be me. It was nice working with the crew and chatting it up with the lovely women I met. That part of the conference is something I think I can do again. I am looking forward to Blogalicious 2010 because Miami is a haute city and their conference was just in a nutshell, sweet. I know people want to grow but lately I am thinking small is the right size for me.
The picture above was a snapshot of our fabulous booth at Blogalicious. Sunkissed Mommy was thrilled to be the title sponsor and hopefully we will be able to do it again next year! I like to consider myself a perfectionist so a special thanks to Unison Event Planners for making sure everything was done the way I would have done it…perfectly! I will get more pics and add them at a later date. Oh and right before we left my Peach city, we ate at The Flying Biscuit. Delish!! I will be taking the kids back to the ATL for a quick weekend trip and will have tons of pics to share. Happy Sunday!

Great post as I believe the conference had a special meaning for all attendees. It made me realize that I want a bit more from my blog and that there is a lot of work to accomplish my goals. I’m glad to hear that it let you realized that your blog is where you want it to be.
